Our Story

Cross Builders was founded in 2012 by Gary and DeLynn Schecher with a mission to help restore the shore in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. What began as a home-lifting business—elevating homes in flood zones to meet new regulations while remodeling and repairing storm-damaged properties—quickly grew into a full-scale development company.

As the demand for quality construction expanded, so did Cross Builders' vision. They soon took on new residential developments, single-family homes, commercial properties, and mixed-use projects. With a commitment to expert craftsmanship and thoughtful design, the company has successfully completed well over 100 projects—and counting—throughout Monmouth County.

Today, Cross Builders continues to take pride in serving the local community, bringing experience, integrity, and innovation to every project.

DeLynn Schecher, Managing Member of Cross Builders, oversees finance and operations with a focus on quality and efficiency. A certified yoga instructor and proud mother and grandmother, she brings leadership, balance, and decades of experience to the company’s success.

Gary Schecher

Project Manager

Gary Schecher, Managing Member of Cross Builders, brings over 30 years of real estate and construction experience. He leads field operations and has overseen nearly 100 successful projects across Monmouth and Ocean Counties, known for quality craftsmanship and design.

Mario Ercolino

Project Manger

Mario Ercolino is the founder of Ercolino Builders & Developers LLC, specializing in custom home construction and remodeling in Monmouth County, NJ. Known for his hands-on approach and commitment to quality, Mario delivers personalized building solutions that reflect his clients' visions.
